Q: DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN THC?

All of our hemp is grown on our farm in Colorado, where we have a proprietary cold-press extraction process that extracts the CBD without the use of CO2, butane or ethanol. When the CBD is extracted it is considered "full spectrum", meaning it has <0.3% THC. 

For our topical body and skincare products, we remediate out the THC (using high-performance chromatography) and it is then considered "broad spectrum". With these products, you have a 0% chance of failing a drug test. The reason we use Broad Spectrum rather than Full Spectrum in our skincare products is because  THC is extremely non-bioavailable when applied topically, so we feel it is unnecessary, and by removing it, it products an additional level of assurance to customers that are worried about using a product containing THC. 

However, in our ingestible Cold-Pressed CBD Oil, we feel strongly about keep it full spectrum (meaning it will contain <0.3% THC) due to research showing the effect of having THC in ingestible form with the CBD (aka "entourage effect").

Q: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND THC?

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive component of the cannabis plant and does not cause a euphoric “high” like it’s sister-compound, tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. When applied topically, CBD jumpstarts your skin’s ability to regenerate itself on a cellular level. CBD offers a significant advantage for proposed medicinal uses and self-care products (ahem…CAUSE+MEDIC) due to its strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Q: HOW DOES CAUSE+MEDIC HELP THE SKIN AND BODY?

Your skin's receptors (referred to as CB2) are activated by your body's own endocannabinoids which allow your skin to regenerate on a cellular level. These receptors can also be activated by outside sources such as, you guessed it, CBD or phytocannbinoids. CBD actually stimulates cellular turnover quicker than your body does on its own. What does this mean for your skin? Well by speeding up the process of skin regeneration we can slow down the effects of aging, various skin conditions, and even repair skin damage (shout out to all you sun worshipping, party monsters out there!)

Q: ARE CAUSE+MEDIC’s CBD-INFUSED PRODUCTS SAFE TO USE DURING PREGNANCY OR WHILE BREASTFEEDING?

We recommend that you consult your physician before using any of our products during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Q: WHAT ABOUT WHILE TAKING OTHER MEDICATIONS?

As with all medications, please consult with your physician regarding the potential interactions between cannabis topicals and other medications. 

Q: CAN THESE PRODUCTS CAUSE A FAILED DRUG TEST?

Our topical products, when used as directed, will not show up on drug tests. Please remember our topical products are for external use only and should never, we repeat, NEVER be ingested.

Our ingestible, Cold-Pressed Full Spectrum Oil does contain <0.3% THC, so if you are concerned about a failed drug test, we recommend not using this product. 

Q: DO CAUSE+MEDIC PRODUCTS CONTAIN ANY PARABENS, SYNTHETIC DYES, OR ARTIFICIAL FRAGRANCES?

No. All of our products are botanical-based and free of harmful ingredients. A few select products do have light fragrance but those scents are obtained by way of essential oils and are chosen for their healing properties.  

Q: ARE CAUSE+MEDIC PRODUCTS 100% ORGANIC?

We always use organic ingredients when available. Please reference our products page which highlights our organic ingredients. 

Q: DOES CAUSE+MEDIC TEST THEIR PRODUCTS ON ANIMALS?

NO WAY! Not now, not ever! We love animals and therefore only test our products on ourselves and the solid friends/family who volunteer for the “cause”. All of our products are vegan except for Lip Rx which contains ethically-sourced beeswax.
